Although Gryff would like to think that he does whatever a spider can on the QC forums, in reality he is mostly just polite or sarcastic, or sometimes a strange and confusing mix of both. He is from New Zealand, and possesses an unrivaled talent for summarizing threads.
He was initially resistant to the seductive pull of Gabbly, but was unable to withstand its dizzying allure of danger and intrigue and now can be found there like basically all the time.

Nonsensical Backstory
As a Beard Brother, he is the upbeat optimistic one who pushes the rest of the team to fight on, even when all the odds are against them. He has the power to condense materials and events for easy transportation. He has also shown the ability to change people's memories of events that have happened in the past. This ability is usually shown towards the end of a thread when he summarizes things. The ability doesn't seem to affect Spinless, whose mind is pretty much an impossible maze, or Inlander, whose beard seems to give him protection from psychic abilities.
He was once captured by the insane geneticist Spinless and made subject to bizarre breeding experiments. His DNA was combined with the user butmyrobotloves to create the Gurghlock that controls haircuts. This Gurghlock hasn't been seen since the Gurghlocks escaped Spinless' lab with the aid of Gryff and Heretic.
